Job Title: Phlebotomist III - FlagstaffJob Description
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist III to join our team in Flagstaff. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and decontamination. This role involves updating patient information and ensuring specimens are collected and stored according to established procedures.
Responsibilities
+ Perform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles.
+ Label and centrifuge specimens as required.
+ Record maintenance data and perform decontamination.
+ Update patient information accurately.
+ Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
+ Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection methods clearly and courteously.
+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
+ Package specimens for transport, ensuring proper temperature and labeling.
+ Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
+ Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
+ Attend annual department trainings.
+ Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
Essential Skills
+ Phlebotomy certification valid in the state of employment.
+ Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ 5-7 years of experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.
Work Environment
This position operates in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. The candidate will be required to handle specimens using various techniques and adhere to strict protocols to maintain specimen integrity. Dress code may include lab coats and other protective clothing as required for safety.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
