Description

Title: Screening Maintenance Technician

We are looking for an experienced Screening Maintenance Tech to join our Flagstaff, AZ laboratory. This position oversees the maintenance and quality of the AU and Merit Instrumentation. This involves regular weekly/monthly maintenance, overseeing preventative maintenance from Light House Labs, troubleshooting, and maintaining assay performance.

Schedule: 4 10-hour shifts, Sat-Tues. Will also be on call for instrument issues

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

Run washes and photocals weekly

Sonicate and check syringes and mix bars monthly

Keep an overall cleanliness of the ACAs and Merits

Merit maintenance and cleaning

Keep an overall cleanliness of screening area and cells

All other duties as assigned

Specials Skills and Abilities:

Outstanding math skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to problem solve, prioritize, and respond quickly to changes. Must be extremely detailed-oriented; demonstrated ability to read a variety of technical documents and charts to determine if results are correct or invalid. Knowledge of forensic documentation handling and chain of custody procedures and requirements. Knowledge of laboratory procedures and tools, including pipettes and other liquid measuring devices, analytical balances and pH meters.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor level degree in a Hard Lab Science Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science Field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Pre-med (Biomed), Forensics & Toxicology) Required
  • Laboratory experience preferred
  • Data entry skills via a keyboard (alpha and numeric), required
  • Strong eye-hand coordination, required
  • Ability to handle a high-volume environment while maintaining the highest level of quality, required
