The Patient Safety Attendant under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, is responsible for providing generalized support services in accordance with the Nursing Plan of Care and Medical/ Surgical Standards of Care and Practice. S/he must follow all policies/procedures of Northern Arizona Healthcare. S/he performs other duties, as assigned or directed, that are within the scope and abilities of the individual's training. The PSA may interact with patients and/or families, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Responsibilities Patient Care - Communicates patient/family needs and/or concerns to the collaborative healthcare team. - Assists with ambulation of stable patients, if appropriate, under the direction/supervision of the RN. - Uses an interactive approach to keep patients safe and occupied (i.e. play cards, read books, write notes, etc.) - Receives and assists in the setup of patient food trays and snacks under the direct supervision of the RN.
