Work Week: The assigned work schedule will vary. During Youth Basketball season, we will need the applicant Thursdays from 4p-8p, and Saturdays 8am-4pm.

As the City's newest Recreation Official I, you will actively support and uphold the City's stated mission and values. We are looking for someone who knows the general knowledge of the rules of basketball and/or volleyball, how to referee a game, and the responsibilities associated with the game as an official. Please note that this is a temporary, non-benefitted position. We are hiring three individuals for this position.
Examples of the Work Performed
- Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Officiates games following established league regulations.
- Keeps accurate score of games.
- Participates in seasonal clinics.
- Arrives at scheduled facility on time, in proper uniform.
- Assists with facility preparation and clean up.
- Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING - General knowledge of the rules of basketball and/or volleyball, how to referee a game, and the responsibilities associated with the game as an official.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING - 1-2 years' experience officiating basketball or volleyball games.
- Arizona Interscholastic Association certificate.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS - Ability to work weekends and evenings as assigned.
- Required to obtain proper equipment and uniforms as needed.
- Ability to pass a written and/or practical exam on the rules of basketball and/or volleyball.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity.
