Are you someone who is ready to make a difference within their local community? If so, the City of Flagstaff is seeking a qualified individual to join our team! As the Citys newest Water Production Operator, you will actively support and uphold the Citys stated mission and values. This position is part of an operations crew of five and is responsible for the start-up, shut-down and daily operation of the Lake Mary Water Treatment Plant and other water production facilities 365 days a year and 7 days per week. Water Production Operators monitor the entire water production system including but not limited to reservoir and tank levels, groundwater well flow rates, various chemical target levels and residuals such as those for chlorine and pH. Operators complete a variety of daily tasks such as cleaning, calibration and verification of instruments related to the production of potable drinking water that meets all Safe Drinking Water Act requirements and are responsible for dispatching appropriate water services personnel to various tasks or emergencies at hand. Operators compile a variety of reports that track citywide water consumption and production on a daily, weekly and yearly basis.
