Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service.Steward Job Responsibilities and Duties* Works closely with Executive Chef and Sous Chef in maintaining the sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen* Scraping food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, plates, flatware, and glasses, washing dirty dishes and putting them back in their appropriate areas* Assisting with sweeping, mopping and polishing the restaurant, bar, kitchen and equipment* Stocking wait staff stations with napkins, utensils, trays and condiments, and assisting the wait staff with all aspects of service* Ability to follow all sanitation guidelines and guidelines for safe handling of food* Help maintain an orderly, clean kitchen, eating and service areas, storage and cooler/freezer facilities, including condiment, soup, salad, pizza stations and the dish drop off area* Assist with opening and closing tasks as required* Assists Executive Chef or Chef on Duty with whatever is requiredSteward Job Requirements* High school diploma or equivalent preferred* A friendly, polite, and courteous nature* Strong customer service and team player skills* Must be current with Food Handlers' certification* Works well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment* Great communication and coordination skills* Flexibility to work shifts, nights, weekends and holidays* Physical stamina to work long hours on your feet
